Our Mission: To remove barriers and link families to the resources they need, ultimately enabling them to acquire competencies necessary to meet their own needs.

Our Service Area: All enrolled children and their families at Calvert Elementary and Sharpe Elementary can use our services.

Our Services

*Referrals for full-time preschool child care for children two and three years of age.

*Referrals for child care for children ages four through twelve for after school,

during the summer and days when school is not in session.

*Intergrated services (home visits, group meetings, montoring child development)

for new and expectant parents.

*Services to enhance parent and child education (PACE); family literacy program.

* Support and training of child day care providers.

*Health services and/or referral to health services, including AIDS/HIV information.

*Parent involvement, parent education and personal growth.

*Family resource library.

*Resource center communications.

*Family support.

 

Kentucky's Family Resource and Youth Service Centers (FRYSC) were created as part of the Kentucky Education Reform Act of 1990.  These school-based centers are designed to identify, coordinate and utilize existing school and community resources to increase student success in school.

The FRYSC program mission is to enchance students' abilities to succeed in school by developing and sustaining partnership and promote:

          * Early learning and successful transition into school.

          * Academic achievement and well-being.

          * Graduationa and transition into adult life.

The vision of the center is to establish the national standard of excellence in the provision of school- based support.

 

 

Free Dental Care

If you do not have dental insurance or medical card, your child may be eligible for up to $500 worth of free dental care.

M.C. Family Learning Center

Shanna Tidwell, instructor at the Needline Building of the Marshall County Learning Center is offering GEd, college prep, or basic skills reviews for parents, parenting/support groups, as well as help for children with their basic skills or homework help. Take Home Skills Folders

The FRC has take home skills folder available for your child. They come in a variety of subjects

including: time, money, addition/subtraction, multiplication/division, fractions, grammar, spelling, writing, and reading comprehension.  There are stickers, flash cards, pencils, and more included in every folder.  Let you child's teacher know if your are interested in a folder.

Adult Mentoring Program

We need volunteers that desire to make

a difference in the life of a child.
