The PTO Chili Supper and Literacy Night was a huge success. The PTO raised around $1300 and there were over 75 students who tested on AR books to earn double points.
The PTO would like to express their appreciation to all staff and parents who brought food and donated their time to this event.
SBDM Council
SBDM stands for School-Based
Decision Making. Our school has a
SBDM Council that includes three
teachers, elected by the teachers, and
two parents that are elected by the
parents at a PTO meeting. The purpose
of this council is to research, investigate
and either make recommendations
or decisions in areas that affect the
academic achievement of the students
at Calvert City Elementary School.
They work in areas of curriculum, instructional practice, classroom management, budget, hiring of
personnel and overall school climate
as it relates to student achievement.
The council meets every first Monday
of the month in the school conference
room at 4:00pm, unless school is not in
session. It is an open meeting
and the public is welcome.
