SBDM COUNCIL MINUTES(DRAFT)
September 21, 2010
The Sharpe Elementary School SBDM Council convened at 4:15 P.M. on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at the school. Members in attendance were Brittany Chambers, Angie Fisk, Tyler Swoope and Meena Wood. John Roberts attended as a guest. The meeting was called to order. Mona Johnson served as secretary and timer.
Items discussed and agreed upon by consensus were:
- Motion to approve the agenda made by Meena Wood, seconded by Brittany Chambers.
2. August 17, 2010 meeting minutes were approved with the following change:
Item 12: SBDM Council meeting scheduled for September 14, 2010 rescheduled for September 21, 2010. Motion by Brittany Chambers, seconded by Meena Wood.
- Mrs. Fisk shared KCCT scores with council. Plans for celebration of student’s achievement were discussed.
- Mrs. Fisk discussed Go Green Behavior Plan including training, student ambassadors, minor vs. major infractions and possibility of donations from area businesses for student incentives.
- Mrs. Fisk announced that School Culture and Writing Plan will be part of Consolidated School Improvement Plan update.
- Mrs. Fisk reported that all teachers except one have received laptop computers from the district. Teachers will be offered professional development on laptop use at a later date. In addition, each classroom has a smartboard, projector and document camera.
- Council approved donation of $300.00 to Calvert-Sharpe Family Resource Center to help with cost of Snack Packs for Kids program.
- Mrs. Fisk distributed copies of Media Selection Policy to be reviewed before next council meeting.
- Fall Festival will be Saturday, October 23, 2010.
- Team Ultra after school fitness program will begin on Wednesday, September 22 with 65 students enrolled and approximately 20 students on a waiting list for future openings.
- The next SBDM Council meeting will be Monday, October 18, 2010 at 4:15 P.M.
- The meeting was adjourned.
